Overview The Kagando Mission Hospital
Foundation, Inc. (US) is a nonprofit, volunteer organization established to help support the Kagando Hospital and Rural Development Center (KARUDEC) in the Kasese district in southwestern Uganda.
How the Foundation Works The officers, directors and friends of the Foundation
are all volunteers.
Administrative costs such as office supplies, informational literature, website, email, post office box, postage, banking, monetary transfers, travel and other miscellaneous expenses are paid for by the directors.
How the Foundation Monitors the Way Your Money is Spent The Foundation believes it is obligated to make certain that your contributions are used wisely to provide the assistance for which they are intended. The board has on-site
knowledge of the challenges facing Kagando Hospital and its community outreach programs. They are in constant contact with the institution regarding projects in operation and those proposed for the future. They are
also able to provide input at various stages of project development and to request changes when they consider them necessary to conform to criteria.
Fund Allocation Funds are allocated
solely in response to proposals submitted by Kagando Hospital Rural Development Center (KARUDEC). These requests are evaluatied as to worthiness, feasibility, and cost effectiveness. Each proposal must be specific in
enumerating objectives, budget, personnel, cash flow, cost monitoring and periodic audits and assessments. The proposals must include mechanisms for implementing changes in procedures based on ongoing
evaluations. KARUDEC has a good track record in managing project development and implementation and is consistent in attempting to improve its management practices. Vice-President Reverend Benson Baguma represents the
foundation in Kasese District and has intimate oversight of the hospital center. On site visits by Foundation members are conducted approximately every 12-18 months. In specific instances, the Foundation donates
equipment, medical instruments and teaching materials not readily available in Uganda.
Although KARUDEC functions under the auspices of the Anglican Church of Uganda, the two organizations operate with fiscal autonomy. There are no financial connections or
transactions between them.
